Antsy Pants

You know those days where youre sitting around, you have plans but they are not until a little later, and you are just antsy as all get out!? I feel like that now. I am ready to go, go, go, however I have no where to go nor do I have any means of getting anywhere even if I did.

I would love to just lay here and relax, however, I cant. I just have that feeling like I have somewhere to be, but I am in Canada there is no where for me to be. haha. I guess I just need to go for a walk, or jog, or run? I feel like my insides are just yanking out of me (in a non painful or discusting way) urging me to get up and get out. I look out the window and theres so much out there. I think I need to go explore to give me somthing to ease this anxiety.

What's a girl to do?!

Good Ole Canada

Well it's Spring Break, and I didnt take the typical route south to the beach, I managed to make my way over and up to good ole Canada!
Its fun the oportunity you have to meet new people when you travel, in such a short time you can learn so much about them. My first flight down to Houston I was suppose to be all by my lonesome on the plane, but as I squeezed out of the plane's barely big enough to fit a small child bathroom, there was an older lady in a white antique lace sundress, black tights, jean jacket, and looonnng blonde hair with bangs straight across her forehead. She had the voice of a long time smoker and the look of a flower child. She greeted me with a smile of relief as she asked if I was sitting next to her. We did the usual banter about where we were headed and why but quickly got into conversation as if we were long time friends. Since it had only been a day since the Tsunami in Japan so we got to talking about it. She told me that she just heard from her son the day before that him and his family were okay. They live in Tokyo and Sandra (thats the lady's name by the way) said that she had been a wreck waiting to hear from them. Sandra said he had to hook his phone up to his car battery to get enough power to give notice that they were okay.
Inbetween a few naps on the plane, Sandra and I covered topics on relationships, sickness, music.... well pretty much everything. She was a joy to have to sit next to, she even shared her butterfinger with me- anyone who does that is okay in my book! haha.
So I had an hour and some change layover which seemed to only last about 15 minutes before we started boarding. I had a middle seat this time inbetween what looked like a Canadian Guido and an older man that was coming back with a missions group from Nicaragua. They were guys so conversation didnt go much further than where ya headed, where ya from, stuff like that. Thank goodness for a $6 swipe of the card for some Direct TV to entertain me on what seemed like a forever long flight.
Well I FINALLY made it! Went through customs, grabbed my bag, and out I went to my long lost friend Amanda (she's not really lost but it made for good dramatic effect, go with me on this) As we found each other and went for a hug we both unexspectedly started crying, realizing the we looked like two lesbians and dryed it up really quick haha. It was dark when I arrived so I had to wait until morning to awake to the most gorgeous view of snow covered mountians, the real ones- not the "lynchburg mountains" those are now just hills to me. Sad, but I'll live.
Well it's nothing but bumming around today, wings tonight, and season finally of the Bachelor.
Tomorrow off to Banff, hot springs here I come!

Beauty for Ashes

"The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is upon me, for the Lord has anointed me to bring good news to the poor. He has sent me to comfort the brokenhearted and to proclaim that captives will be released and prisoners will be freed. He has sent me to tell those who mourn that the time of the Lord’s favor has come, and with it, the day of God’s anger against their enemies. To all who mourn in Israel, he will give a crown of beauty for ashes, a joyous blessing instead of mourning, festive praise instead of despair. In their righteousness, they will be like great oaks that the Lord has planted for his own glory." -Isaiah 61

Tonight I had the great plesure to sit with a great group of girls who have a passion to help some forgotten women that live amongst us in America. Slave trafficing happens all over the world, but what about the women who seem to willingly give thier bodies over, who reveal themselves out of despiration for money, the ones who are lonely and honestly are the social outcases in our society, what about the stripers, prostitues, and girls in the porn industry?

http://www.iamatreasure.com/ gives all the statistics and information that we kind of talked about tonight. They are a group in Los Angeles that helps women in the sex industry. Kendall, one of the girls that God has really laid this passion on, wants to head up something very similar to this.

This blog doesnt nearly cover the discussions we had tonight, unfortunately I am just too tired and the brain is shutting down. But it was good, it helped me look at these women in a new light and gave me a compassion for them instead of an anger because of what the industry has done to our society. One awesome story in the Bible came to my head when we were talking was from John 8

"The teachers of the law and the Pharisees brought in a woman caught in adultery. They made her stand before the group and said to Jesus, “Teacher, this woman was caught in the act of adultery.  In the Law Moses commanded us to stone such women. Now what do you say?”  They were using this question as a trap, in order to have a basis for accusing him.
But Jesus bent down and started to write on the ground with his finger.  When they kept on questioning him, he straightened up and said to them, “Let any one of you who is without sin be the first to throw a stone at her.”  Again he stooped down and wrote on the ground.
At this, those who heard began to go away one at a time, the older ones first, until only Jesus was left, with the woman still standing there.  Jesus straightened up and asked her, “Woman, where are they? Has no one condemned you?”
    “No one, sir,” she said.
“Then neither do I condemn you,” Jesus declared. “Go now and leave your life of sin.” "
